Well, summer was two days, 48 hours. Now, it is back to grey, off and on rain, much cooler. Took out my winter hat,but I was able to only wear a very heavy red sweatshirt that has WISCONSIN printed on the front. It is one of
my best Goodwill buys. I would have like CHICAGO on the front, but Wisconsin is right next door, and I have really nice memories of that state. We use to pick up the kids from Sunday school and drive to Burlington, Wisconsin for a picnic. Now that I think
about it, that was a long drive for a picnic, but we were looking for property to build a cottage and we often ended up there. One reason that we didn't pick that area was that most of the small lakes had taverns on them and we didn't want that. Lucky for
us ,we settled on Sandlake, in Michigan, a very special place, even though it was a four plus hour drive to get there .Unfortunately, it was too far away to be able to pick the kids up from Sunday school and to have a picnic there, and then drive home. We
made up for that by picking the kids up from school any time there was a long week end and driving to Sandlake. We picked them up the last day of school on summer vacation and didn't go back until the day
before school started. Those were the good old days, for sure.
