Thanks for the nice responses that I got with my ramblings. Being away from my community is something that I didn't expect, ever. I bought this trailer as a place to escape the Florida heat. I expected to spend a month or
two , at the most. Covid was a word that I never heard, and when I did,I thought it was going to be contained in Europe,Asia or Africa..not that it would be on my door step. I am beginning to meet some women, but there is no place like my community in Venice.
I have a history in Venice. Today,I attended my first book club meeting. It is based on books involving history. History is not what I read. It'll be a stretch, but that is what I want. The women picked their reading list for the year. Six books, because they meet every other month. Which is good because that gives me enough time to read cook books like novels and mystery stories,where I go to the end to find out who did
it. Then I go back and read the whole book. This reading group didn't let me off the hook just because I was a newbie,or because I was going to be a reverse snow bird.I get to do a book written by Stephan Ambrose, " Ike's Spies". That's good because I've read
his other books and he writes so I can understand. By the time it is my turn, I should figure out how to make a presentation. I'm already nervous.
