ON THE BACK BURNER

Sun makes such a difference . It hasn't rained in the last 24 hours.  The wind did pick  up yesterday, but except for the sailers on the " Race to Alaska" it wasn't an inconvenience for us landlubbers. In less than an hour off shore, 4 sailers had to be rescued by the coast guard, one sailboat broke it's mast and the race officials gave the boaters an additional 24 hours to finish the race.I guess  some people just like that adrenalin rush. I spent almost all day outside, as did Dixie. Where I am, she is. Even if she is uncomfortable. I was working on clearing some over growth next to my pad. We worked on it for the wedding for a fire pit and a cozy spot with lawn furniture. But it needs a lot more work and today was the perfect day for it. I got to saw down some limbs , but I was really hoping to get to use the chain saw again. When we started the project , before the wedding, we would find all kinds of treasures. Lead pipes, tin cans, pieces of lumber. It was the original houses' junk pile. Today, I found what I think is a clay drain pipe. I went to ask my son if I should leave it or dig it up and when I came back, I couldn't find it. It'll turn up again and this time I will put a stake where It is hiding .Then I'll dig.
