My favorite day of the week... Saturday. Yard sale day. We were a threesom today. Me, son and grandson. There just happened to be a sale around the corner from us. I went straight to the free box. That's where some of the
best " junk" is and I wasn't disappointed. The best was a wooden frame of a lawn chair that reclines. A couple of summers ago, I reconstructed a folding
lawn chair with nylon rope. I'll do the same with this one. Our next sale was another all community sale. This week was soft goods, but next week is maritime stuff. I know we will be back for that one.
I'll probably sit in the car while my son justifies to himself why he is buying whatever he gets. But today's sale was at its end, so for a $1 you could fill a shopping bag with whatever fit in it. My$1 bag had 2 cook books, some T shirts , a sweater, a laundry
bag, a hat,and a travel cosmetic bag. Surprising how much you can shove in a paper bag. But the best stuff, again, was the free pile. A big plastic bag of what we call" fairy lights". Many, many strands of electric garden lights. And wreaths. I have been collecting
wreaths and putting them on the exterior wall of the wood shed. I enjoy looking at them more than a wood shed wall.Maybe I'll string some lights around the perimeter of the wood shed walls. I have just the lights for that.
