ON THE BACK BURNER

Today was my volunteer day and it was a good day to be indoors. It rained from morning till night and then started raining  again. My daughter reminded me that this was, after all, the northwest and that is what happens here. I read that the southeast was getting hit with heat . Maybe we can share some of each. Dixie wore her rain coat and I wore mine. We must look ridiculous, but we mostly stay dry. My volunteer shift  made me realize that standing for 4 hours can make your back start hurting. I sorted piles of clothes and purses. I folded, or rather rolled piles of T shirts. Marie Kondo would be so proud of me and the T's looked really good in the clear plastic containers. Some men's new clothes came in and these I put out for the Food Bank workers and clients . Today , someone will get the jack pot. New Jeans and heavy sweat shirts went on that rack . With this rainy ,very cool weather, it's good to know that we can offer a change of clothes to someone who has been getting wet while helping put groceries in a car.
