It happened. Actually two things happened.One, it hit 60 degrees and I had to take my tights off that I wear under my jeans. Secondly, Costco didn't have smoked salmon. I specifically went to get lox because my son was planning
to treat his boat crew to real bagels, lox and cream cheese. I drove over 60 miles round trip for this errand. All was not lost. I really like fried pickles which is usually served with a ranch dressing for dipping. I never heard of fried pickles until I moved
to Florida, and I resisted for years from ordering. Finally I did. but they have to be spears, not discs. In Venice, Pops makes them just the way I
like. At Costco, I found a fried pickle Ranch dressing dip. It's like cream cheese / sour cream with pickles and ranch dressing. It's not lox, but it sure is good on bagels. Too good.
