Today was a perfect day for mowing,weed wacking and weeding. I have stepping stones that lead from my pod to a path that I use to go to my son's studio. The grass was taller than the stones and that bothered me. aI lowered
the blade on the lawn mower and took another swing around the stones. Then I hand clipped around them and now I am happy. I had to wait to check about weeding. I can't always tell the difference between a weed and not a weed. I had planned to cut my rhubarb
for strawberry rhubarb pie, but I heard that there was a recall on strawberries, so I had to check where my berries came from. No problem, but I lost
my ambition to make a pie, so for now, I am just eating strawberries,maple syrup and heavy cream. Killer treat. My son used the heavy weed wacker to trim where I couldn't get the mower, so now the yard is perfect.I am in love with a flowering bush called "
hot lips". I had planted a row of them along a fence. Half of them didn't come back and I am very disappointed . I think I will go for tried and true geraniums. They'll still be red. But I loved saying
hot lips.
