ON THE BACK BURNER

Some times, I even surprise myself about how much I can do in one day. Today is my first day back from my little vacation and there was lots to do. It is Sunday, so it is family meal. I figured that I would skip preparing anything, since I actually, had nothing in the house to serve. I went with to the store with a shopping list and I am only sorry that I didn't buy myself some chocolates. I may have to go back tomorrow. I need at least one bite of chocolate after dinner . After we sat around, outside, having coffee, everyone had a project. My grandson offered me more veggie starts, so that was at the top of the plan. I now have  basil, purple and green, nasturtium ,scallions, corn, cucumbers, two types and dill.I think this is it. Squash, I just remembered. The lettuce that I planted before I left is looking good. Sweet peas are moving up the string my son put up for them. I bought strawberries and now I will cut my rhubarb and make a pie.I washed several loads of wash, including my flannel lined jeans that I wore every day that I was away, even travel days. I had to attacked the grass. It went wild while I was away and I was only gone 10 days. It was a battle . The electric mower sounded wiped out at some uphills, but I kept pushing .I just finished the back lot when it started to rain and I was happy to have an excuse to stop when I did. Tomorrow, I'll do the front yard. My pod is getting a little overgrown with a wild rose bush and a winter berry bush. I don't want to cut them back because it looks mysterious having a few vines crawling over my windows.
