Today was the first day of the public sale at the New Image, the agency where I volunteer. In the first hour there were dozens of women coming through, shopping. We requested that people please mask. In most public places,
except for medical facilities , this is not mandatory. We strongly asked and all of the volunteers wore masks. My eating and Mah Jongg buddy was a cashier and sat at the door. She could welcome people,coming in and take their money when they left. I may have
mentioned before that she is retired military. Very military. And proud of it. She handled the mask request very straight forward. When a woman balked at masking, my buddy said" there are the masks, there is the door, choose". Period. The women left. Period.
And speaking of Covid, which seems to never go away, it is on the rise here. That and the price of gas. And eggs. But not the temperature. Bummer.
