I spent the day doing my volunteering. There are so many groups doing good, that our group, New Image, had bags of clothing that didn't meet the needs of the women we want to serve, that we packed the clothes up in large
plastic bags and I drove the bags to another agency, called Better Living. They had so much, that they couldn't take our excess. That is Port Townsend , in a run on sentence. So many people want to be helpful,
but the clients aren't coming. We have to figure out why. Maybe being in a police station building has something to do with it. Or ,maybe because we are making it convenient for us by being opened only 2 days a week,mid day. I understand that they wanted to
honor nurses during the beginning Covid period by invited them to come and " shop", gratis. 4 nurses came. It was in the middle of the day, mid week. What working nurse is free during those hours.. in a pandemic. I am thinking that we need to change our way
of thinking. We are all well meaning,but maybe not realistic.
