Having been born and living in N.O. until I got married, I was accustomed to having predictable weather. When you went to bed, it was hot and humid. When you woke up , it was sunny, hot and humid. A few days a year, it rained.
Every few years, we had a hurricane. Then it rained and the wind blew, hard. Then it was sunny, hot and humid, again. I got married and moved to the Chicago area. Many days were hot and humid. Also , some nights. We had snow, ice ,sometimes both at the same
time. The weather could change in a few minutes. The winds were cold. It was warmer, in the winter, nearer Lake Michigan. It was cooler, in the summer, near Lake Michigan. In Florida, it is almost always hot and humid. Rain is predictable. It rains in certain
months, and in prescribed times. Occasionally, it gets cold enough to wear socks with your flip flops. Now ,I am in the North west and I don't understand the weather. It can be grey for days, and suddenly,
the sun comes out for 15minutes,followed by a surprise of hail. It can be grey , with a piercing wind. Then the sun comes out . It can rain at my address, but not 2 blocks away. On a clear day, you can
see mountain ranges with snow caps. When it is grey, you can't see the lagoon, a few blocks away. It's not a wonder that I am confused.
