It is going to rain all week, according to the weather forecast. Since it isn't going to change, I decided to weed in the rain. My son lent me a pair of those rubber pants that sailors wear, I cuffed them a few times, put
on my rain jacket, grabbed the pick and rake and went to it. As long as I was dry, I didn't mind the rain. I did about 3/4 of my garden and then called it a day. The waterproof pants, I hosed off and threw over a lawn chair. I didn't know what to do with them,
so I figured they were wet anyway , so keeping them in the weather was going to be OK. My rain jacket , a bright yellow thing, didn't come out of weeding so great . I actually had to hose it off. I guess
that I really got down and dirty with the weeding. I then soaked it most of the day in dish detergent. It looks better, but I can see where some of the waterproofing peeled away. Maybe it wasn't meant for
gardening. My garden boots I just had to hose, but there is a problem with them, too. I did have them duct tapped, because they had sprung a leak,
but that wore off and they leak. They are OK until I hosed them. Then my socks got wet, too. Lucky for me, I have a portable electric heater so most of my wet things get hung around or on top of it. Everything will be toasty warm when I go out to do the other
1/4 of the weeding, in the rain.
