Like a number of tourist driven communities. PT does not have affordable housing. Jobs that are available to hourly workers, don't cover the high rents. What happens is
that people who can't afford the rentals, move away . I was reminded of this by an editorial in the very local newspaper. The paper employs 3 or 4 people.
It comes out once a week and the best reading, for me, are the Police and Sheriff reports. There was a lengthy editorial by one of the 3 or 4 employees
that was leaving a job that she loved because she couldn't afford to live here. That was sad. Then there was a loving l obituary by the wife of a man who lived a wonderful life, made life long friends of everyone he met, went sailing and fishing, helped neighbors,
and who met strangers at the coffee shop and then spent hours there talking with them. It was a loving and joyful report of his character . I always like obituaries and this was as special as I bet this man was. Wish I had had a cup of coffee with him, too.
