ON THE BACK BURNER

Dixie and I took a walk around the neighborhood this afternoon. I was gone, maybe 10 weeks. Just like it is in Venice, every bit of land seems to be getting developed. I left here with a view of a wooded large city block . At a certain spot in our yard, you can see the lagoon and further beyond it, the open water. Now, there is a porta potty in the street and a house is under construction. We are still safe because my son's property borders a woods that can't be built on.... we think. He still has only his house and a neighbors on our side of the street. The next house has it's side yard on our street and the house faces an other street. I still insist that this town has no zoning regulations, anything seems to be OK.  The city had voted not to allow big box store in , so PT can keep its small town feel. Thank goodness for that. Dixie and I can still take our walks and share the street with momma , poppa and baby deers . That's a good thing.
