ON THE BACK BURNER

My Colorado daughter told me tonight that they are adopting a res. dog. For people,in the west, that means a reservation dog, as in a Native American reservation. I am not sure if it politically correct to say reservation any more. I'll check. They have been looking for a certain dog to replace their black lab, who adopted them, years ago. I think that I have written about them before. My daughter, and son in law, usually adopt small dogs that are discards, with front limbs missing . They have been on national TV and are often written up in newspapers. At this time, they have 5 little guys with a total,of 10 legs. The dogs get around just fine. They scoot on their chests, they can jump on the couch, they don't know what they can't do. A few even ski. This new dog coming into the family is a weirdo. She has 4 legs. I hope that the other 5 don.'t discriminate against her. Her name is Hope, because, as my daughter said, everyone needs a little hope.
