I am reading my " one non fiction a month book". I am usually a very fast reader. There is no advantage to being able to read as fast as I do. I don't retain as much as a slower reader does. At least, that is my feeling.
Sometimes, I don't even remember that I read a book until I read a couple of chapters. Reading my non fiction book is making me read slower. The book I choose is about the language of trees. It is fascinating.
I look at trees around me and I can see what the author is saying. He is talking about forests of trees and trees hundreds of years old. Our trees, even if we think they are old ,are babies. Reading this book isn't like reading a mystery book. In mystery books,
I often skip to the end, and then go back .That doesn't work in this book. Every chapter is of a development in the tree's life. That's too exciting to skip.
