ON THE BACK BURNER

It was a little scary, but I rode my ebike today, in the street, like a big girl. After a very brief jolt of power, I figured out not to throttle unless I meant to. The first few seconds, I committed every mistake that I was told not to do. I thought that the gear lever was the throttle, I wasn't even on the bike and I throttled it, I held onto the bike when I should have let go. All wrong. Second try was better. I peddled, got control, didn't do anything dumb, and I was riding an ebike. I wanted to see how to use peddle assist when going up a hill. There is one incline in my development and I got to see what it felt like to get that little push as I did the hill. I still did all of the peddling, so it wasn't as if I was on a scooter and relied on power. I was still the power maker, getting a little nudge from the battery. It'll be great on the hills in PT.     I've never had a knee problem, even with all of the years of running, but I could feel as if my knees were being asked to do some work. After a short time, I could feel them relaxing and I stopped worrying about their giving me a problem. My biggest problem was that I couldn't see what was behind me. My daughter was riding behind and I want to talk to her,but afraid to turn my head. I have a mirror on the bike that my daughter was on and I will transfer it to my ebike. All in all, a very successful ride and with one more trip around my development to get my confidence , I will get on the legacy Trail  and put some milage on this bike.
