ON THE BACK BURNER

There really  is something about living each day as it comes. Even the simplest of life is complicated. But until  you take that one foot step in front of the last foot step, you just don't know what you will think or experience. There are so many " what if's"  in life. I think about that a lot. What if my parents  hadn't been having our house painted and I had to go to a friends house for the day. I wouldn't have met Bob. What if, we hadn't moved to our house in Evanston. Our next door neighbor invited us for a week end to their cottage in Michigan. We found our special family vacation cottage there. What if I hadn't sat around my neighbors kitchen table having coffee and we 4 mom's of  a total of 15 kids, hadn't all decided to go to college. What if, one trip with Apple vacations to Palaya del Carmen would lead to many years of returning to the same hotel and room at that town. What if ,going to the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, Colorado suggested by our travel agent, for one week, would lead to over 20 years of returning every August. First it was Bob and me. Then our kids, then grandkids. I love "what if's". What if Irv Lyon hadn't invited me to light the Shabbat candles when I found the JCV by looking up places of worship in a Venice directory and went . How would I have know that I would get a family of choice and be embraced by so many loving special women. I didn't know that any of this would happen. I just let one day unfold into the next day. I'm still opened to more "what if's"
