ON THE BACK BURNER

I checked the weather for the next 10 days. Rain. Every day. It's a good thing that I don't shrink when I get wet.For a reason that I don't understand, I have a ripe strawberry on one of my two strawberry plants. I decided to give the birds first crack at it, but they don't seem interested. It's big and red, but probably it doesn't have much taste without the sun to sweeten it. I also have one flower blooming on a potted plant on my deck. That shouldn't be happening , either. My daughter left two Kosher packages of meat when she went back to Israel. Through the internet, she found a Kosher butcher in Seattle that shipped her choices of meat frozen, to me. The meat was expensive ,but really good. One of the packages that we didn't use was a lamb roast. She emailed me a recipe for lamb that I am cooking right now. I have no more space in my fridge to store it over night,so I will do what we did in the midwest---- put it on my deck. The temperature is almost as cold as my refrigerator, so it should be safe. I am a little concerned about four legged predators. I'll rig something  up that should keep wild life away. I know that deer won't be interested, but what else is lurking out there. Only the Shadow knows.
