Instead of yard sale-ing with my son, today, I went to Hurricane Ridge in the Olympic Mountains. The entrance to the National Park is in Port Angeles, about 40 miles from Port Townsend. I have a life time pass to all National
Parks, which we've had for years. I am not sure that they even offer these passes any more. I treasure mine. I didn't bring it!! The fee for a 7 day pass is $30. too bad, I won't use it again this week.
Our ride through the park to the Ridge was 20 miles of beauty. The road twisted with switched backs and included 3 tunnels that were carved through the Olympic Mountain. When we got to the ridge,it was windy but sunny . It wasn't quite clear enough to see
Canada, but it was a straight shot across the Ocean. I could almost see other mountain ridges. I did see snow on the higher elevation.I think our elevation was about 6,000 feet. After a short hike, we drove back down the 20 miles of paved road, left the park
and went to a drive through diner. When I got home and walked Dixie, I took a nap. Fresh air does that to a gal.
