ON THE BACK BURNER

I think it has been raining for two days. At least it feels like that. It's amazing how fast the yellowed dry grass turns green with a good soaking. Trees are turning and leaves are falling. I guess that means it  is officially fall .Our neighbor has two trees that are turning a brilliant golden red. It looks as if it is on fire. When the sun comes  out again, and shines on it,it will be beautiful. Mostly ,it is all evergreen trees around here. That was a wise move to call this The Evergreen State. That makes the ones that change really stand out. Dixie wore a sweater and her rain jacket when we went for a walk. She must have been  used to wearing doggie clothes ,in her other life. She stands still to get dressed and helps by lifting one leg, then the other. And she seems to like putting on her sweaters and rain gear. She also likes the bath,, which really helps, since I still haven't had her groomed since I came here. PT is having a problem finding workers. There used to be two ferries running. Now ,only one is running because they can't find help. My son and DiL went camping for a few days and that required taking a ferry. With one ferry running, they had to wait 3 hours until they made it to the front of the line. At least the scenery was special.
