ON THE BACK BURNER

I've been told that there are no poisonous snakes here. I hope that report is true, because I have been deep into the woods and down close to the ground , clearing this brush. Just so I don't scalp the area, I am leaving any bush that can stand on its own and has some green leaves. That still, leaves a lot to clear. The absolute worse is the holly. The leaves are dangerous and attack, the limbs are worse. The claws bite through rubber work gloves. Even after I cut them, I still have to get them into the wheelbarrow and then the trailer. I yell a lot. While I am doing this, Dixie lays in the sun working on her tan. I found a piece of metal  under the brush and from the way it was buried in the ground, I was sure it was going to be a wagon wheel. I had to get the axe to pry it up... disappointment....my son said that it was a piece of a car. I am very excited because today, we go to the dump. It's a destination place !
