ON THE BACK BURNER

I am not sure why this is , but many of the people that I am friends with, are not that uncomfortable or unhappy about sheltering during this stressful time. Of course they miss their immediate family, their kids, their grandkids, their parents, if they are fortunate to still have them in their lives. But ,for most of us, we have adjusted to being mostly alone . No more dinners with friends. Miss it, but not the end of social life when we can be close again. Going to restaurants , miss it, but not that much. Going to the theatre. Miss it , but great stuff on PBS. Wandering the aisles at a store, not my thing and Amazon works. Technology has made the world smaller and companies have figured out how to reach us in our sheltering homes. Life is complicated,it has enough challenges to keep us alert. Just when we think we see the end of sheltering, the world pivots a few degrees and we are back to the start line. Strength to strength is what we draw on. It will soon be the Jewish New Year. I have never looked forward as much to the start of a new year. Everyone be well, be sane, be thoughtful, be happy,be inscribed in the book of life. Life does go on and we should all be in it.
