ON THE BACK BURNER

I have figured out how to make time fly. I can become so absorbed in a film that ,if I check the clock, I am confused about how much time I  wasted . I am not even conscious of the time getting away from me. Sometimes I think that I could have used that time more wisely, but then, if I enjoyed what I was watching and I did no harm to anybody, what the heck. Right now, I am watching a documentary about the chef for a team doing the Tour de France. It sounds like a dream job . For her. I am happy cooking for my pod. today I made the recipe I found for Bubbie's pickles. Some of the brine spilled over into a plate that I put under the brining jar, and now I have the scent of pickles floating around my 200 plus sq. feet of living space. I have to move the jar out of my place. When I made pickles at our cottage, I let them rest in the basement. I'd go down every morning to check on them and every day, there would be less pickles in the jar. I'm not sure if they ever made them to maturity. I am growing pumpkins. I thought, when I planted the one plant, that I would get one pumpkin. No one told  me that the vine spreads over the whole garden and I may be the mom to  many, many pumpkins. So far, they are cute little babies. I may have to put some up for adoption.

Don't quite know how this got to me but it was on the top line of my computer (not in email) But I really enjoyed it. I truly admire you.
