ON THE BACK BURNER

Still working on keeping those Robin's out of my garden. My DiL woke up  very early AM and went outside to move the owl. It is supposed to be more effective if you move it around the garden. She said that she was going along with the thought that the early bird gets the worm .I am planning on making  a scarecrow. In the meantime, I took a dead branch and tied the silver and red tape that I bought at the garden shop .It looks very festive. Then I stuck it in the ground near their favorite digging spot. The wind is pretty wicked right now and the tape is blowing around the stick. This should restrict their eating some .If it works, I'll forgo the scarecrow. We had bird entertainment while we ate our family meal. My stick with the tape only kept the meeker birds away. The more adventuresome ones, continued eating. I keep my one door opened while we are eating on the deck. Makes it easier for Dixie to go in and out if she wanted to leave my side and it makes it easier for me to go back and forth into the kitchen. Two birds flew in the house. Stayed a few minutes and then flew  out. That was much better than me chasing a bird around the pod.I've done that a few times. Dinner was good. I made a dish that I made years ago, ravioli lasagna. Easy and quick .Can't beat that combination.
