ON THE BACK BURNER

Yard sale day. Depressing. I came home empty handed. My son came home with some contraption that measures if your battery is run down. We went to our now favorite take out place. Last week we didn't have lunch because my son's band, had a gig. This week ,we were ready . But they didn't have the shrimp po boy that we had the first time we were there. The cook said that the shrimp were so expensive that he opted not to buy them and pass the cost on to the customer. Instead ,he had a fish sandwich. Sounded OK to us and I thought that it was even better. Actually, it's the bread and the sauce. I spent the rest of day light moving the hose every 20 minutes to help the fruit trees survive this draught. My daughter in Brooklyn says that at sun rise and sunset, the light is such that you can see the smoke from the fires on the west coast. That is serious smoke. We ended the day by taking my van to be washed at the drive through car wash. I can't believe that my son has never gone through one before. On the other hand, if you saw his 20 year old car, maybe it is believable.
