ON THE BACK BURNER

It's at the end of July , and except for two really dangerously hot days, it hasn't reached 70 . I would really appreciate a little heat. I still run my heat for one early morning blast. After that, I use the low setting on my electric heater. By late afternoon, I can turn if off for a few hours while the sun does it job. As soon as the sun goes down, which was at 9:15 tonight, I turn it back on low to make it cozy for me.  I would like to wear some of the summer clothes that I  have. I have been wearing my sandals  with socks. That is so Florida . Those Robins are still digging up my garden, pulling out worms. I am convince that they see a cold winter coming and they are getting ready .They dig so furiously that they have dug up some of my daffodil bulbs. Dixie ,it turns out, is not a hot weather dog. When the pod heats up  with the afternoon sun, I put a fan on in her direction and she just sits as close to it as she can get. She will not  be happy when I finally get her back home. But I will.
