Today,I am thinking that knitting is a little like life. You have a smooth time, the knit side. Then turn over and there are ridges-that's the bumpy side. You can stop knitting and get back to a project later, picking up where you left off. A little like you sometimes do with old friends.  Then ,too,you can unravel your project if you don't like the way it is turning out.You can start over.Follow a different pattern.Sorta like taking that other path.You can combine stitches, the way you combine people at your table.You can take an established pattern, and change it. That's what we want, because it is never too late to be creative,in a knitting project or in real time.

I say the Shema every night at bedtime. It makes me feel connected. Reading your blog has made me think about my life. I try to be upbeat. Not easy.

I can't stop reading - you truly inspire me. I have never been to Israel, because I can't afford the plane fare. My grandchildren have been there;
