New Page -New Day

It's never too late

I am not superstitious but when I do see a rainbow ,I acknowledge that it is a covenant with God.I do believe that there are no coincidences, I do believe that when I go to services on Yom Kippur and I ask to be included in the Book of Life,I have a fifty fifity chance of being at services the following Yom Kippur. To hedge my bets, I do say the Shema every morning. Does this mean that I am religious ? I've had people close to me and in an accusing way say "Oh I'm  not as religious as you are". Is this because I like to go to services on Shabbat and I try, often unsuccessfully , to make Saturday a day of rest ?.This makes me uncomfortable because what do I say back  ,"yes, I am more religious than you". I go to services because I feel comfortable and complete there.I go because people that I like are there.I go to support our Rabbi.I like the discipline of observing the Shabbat. Can you just imagine the high I will get when I do this in Israel, where it is never too late.
